Our Vision

Smith Optometry, P.C. was founded on the efforts, talents, and ideas of many different people. In all dealings with our patients, we endeavor to conduct ourselves with integrity and honesty. Decisions are made on what is best for you, the patient, and we take your vision needs very seriously. We are trained to provide you with accurate and professional answers to all your eyewear needs.

About the Doctor

Kenneth C. Smith Jr. O.D. graduated from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 1997. His externships were at St. Albans VA Hospital in Queens, New York, and Aran Eye Associates in Miami, Florida.

Both externships involved ocular disease training in Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, "Red Eyes," and Diabetic management and treatment.

Dr. Smith's internship in Manhattan concentrated on Contact Lens fittings to include astigmatic lenses, spherical lenses, hard lenses (RGP's), and bifocal contacts.

Dr. Smith’s Goodwill Mission

Dr. Smith participated in a goodwill mission to Central America. He traveled to Honduras with VOSH and the Lions Club to provide eye care for the needy. Free eye examinations and eyeglasses were given to the underprivileged to improve their vision. Any old and unused pair of eyeglasses given to Dr. Smith are donated to VOSH or the Lions Club to be used for future VOSH missions.

Dr. Smith's areas of concentration are Primary Eyecare, Contact Lens fittings, Eyeglasses, Ocular Disease management, and Dry eye disease management. He has accumulated years of experience administering eye exams, managing eye disease, fitting contact lenses, calculating accurate eyeglass prescriptions, and dispensing eyeglasses

Consulting Optometrist

Dr. Kenneth Smith is a Consulting Optometrist at 2 Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Centers in the New York City area. He provides comprehensive eye exams and eyeglasses to residents, nurses, administrators, and doctors.

Areas of Service

Dr. Smith travels to corporations in the tri-state area (including midtown Manhattan) to provide eyecare to corporate employees.

Dr. Kenneth Smith travels throughout New York City, providing House Calls for patients who prefer comprehensive eye care in the privacy of their own homes. He also travels to the home of patients who cannot physically travel to see their eye doctor.
